The story opens with a man calling the police to confess to murder and being arrested at the scene. Detective Claire Richardson is assigned to take his statement. Louis A Tandoh is a British writer and martial arts instructor. Born with dyslexia, he received specialised educational support after sustained advocacy by his mother and the intervention of the then local Member of Parliament. He has worked as an instructor while balancing family responsibilities and a personal health challenge, completing the manuscript of First Detection Gingerbread Man over more than a decade.
